TOM & CATHERINE | RIVEROAKS

The Situation

Tim and Corrine’s 1910s kitchen was a drafty, cramped space that struggled to keep up with two active young boys. Beyond the dysfunctional layout, failing insulation created a "cold zone" and a fire hazard, making the heart of the home feel disconnected and unsafe.

Our Strategy

We stripped the kitchen to the studs to modernize the envelope before looking outward. We opened the wall to the dining room, restored the original soft-wood window casings, and refinished the main floor’s historic hardwoods to unify the home’s 1910s character with modern performance.

Their Success

The result is a bright, high-capacity family hub that feels expansive despite keeping its original footprint. By pairing custom ceiling-height cabinetry with restored period details, we created a safe, warm, and seamless sanctuary that honors the home's heritage while supporting a busy modern family.
